My Nook is here

My parents gave me the Nook for Christmas and it has finally arrived.

First question I often get is why not a Kindle?  When the kindle first came out,  you could not install the kindle software on a laptop for reading.  You had to buy a kindle to read amazon’s ebooks.  Barnes and Noble allowed you to download the software on your laptop to read books.  So if I were to purchase a kindle,  there are about 20 ebooks that I could not read on it.

There are only about 12 magazines for the nook right now, but the book selection is pretty extensive.  It connects to the AT&T network to download books for free and it is built on the android platform so we will probably see some apps come out for it.
